Maestro OCT (Optical Coherence Tomography)
The Maestro OCT captures high-resolution, cross-sectional images of the retina and optic nerve — similar in concept to an ultrasound, but using light instead of sound. This lets us see individual retinal layers and detect microscopic structural changes associated with glaucoma, macular degeneration, and diabetic eye disease long before they'd be visible on a standard exam or affect your vision.
California OptoMap Ultra-Widefield Retinal Imaging
Traditional retinal photography captures a limited, central portion of the retina and often requires dilation. The California OptoMap captures up to 200 degrees of the retina — roughly 80% of the retinal surface — in a single, high-resolution image, frequently without the need for dilating drops. This gives our optometrists a far more complete view of your retinal health in less time, and creates a detailed baseline image we can compare against at future visits to track even subtle changes.


Humphrey Visual Field Testing
The Humphrey Visual Field analyzer is the clinical gold standard for mapping your peripheral vision. It's especially critical for detecting and monitoring glaucoma, which typically damages peripheral vision first — often so gradually that patients don't notice any change until significant vision loss has already occurred. This test precisely maps your field of vision to catch that loss early.
Why does advanced technology matter for my eye exam?
Many serious eye conditions — glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy — cause no symptoms in their early stages. By the time you notice a vision change, damage may already be permanent. Advanced imaging technology like the Maestro OCT and California OptoMap allows us to detect these changes at a structural level, often years before they'd affect your sight, giving you and your optometrist the earliest possible window to manage the condition and protect your vision.
