Do You Have Low Vision?

Patients with reduced vision secondary to diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma, and macular degeneration often have difficulty adjusting and performing their daily tasks. Many of them are unaware of the devices available to help them through these activities or hobbies and struggle through. Some may even become so frustrated that they abandon their hobbies altogether! With all of the possible devices available for low vision patients, no one should have to abandon doing what they love due to their reduced vision.

At Vespa Vision Centre we provide low vision services and are registered with the appropriate government offices to coordinate any devices that may aid you. Many of these devices are eligible for partial coverage from the government's Assistive Devices Program (ADP). Patients who are on disability can also receive further assistance. To qualify for ADP you must have vision not better than 20/50 with both eyes or significantly reduced peripheral vision to less than 20 degrees. To arrange a low vision consultation with our office we require a referral from your eyecare provider.

Some of the devices we are able to provide include:

  • Hand held magnifiers
  • Stand magnifiers
  • LED lamps and Floor stand lamp magnifiers
  • Telescopes for distance vision
  • Electronic digital magnifiers
  • And many miscellaneous products

If you have low vision don't continue struggling through your hobbies and daily activities, call our office to inquire about more information!
